What it is

Kapok makes coloring books about people who really lived. Each book walks through one life in order, a single moment to a page, printed with the year it happened, so the book moves forward in time rather than jumping between pictures.

Turn a page over and the story carries on in plain prose: colour the front, read the back, and by the last page you have the whole life. The outlines are thick and easy to fill, and the pages are printed on one side, so markers don't bleed through onto the next picture.

The first book is Cleopatra: forty pages to colour, from her birth in Alexandria to the last years of her reign. A new book comes out every week.

Who it’s for

For teens and adults who want an easy, unhurried thing to do with their hands, and some history with it.
